Empress
Number 3, The Empress
The word Empress in this deck does not have to refer to someone being female, but rather as someone having a strong feminine energy. Here we see a Pixie resting on their throne of flowers. There is an abundance of nature surrounding them. With the Empress card comes a sense of harmony and grace. They hold a butterfly made of pure light, representing change, growth, new opportunities, creation and a connection to the spiritual realm.
The Empress is here to remind us to be kind and take care of ourselves. We cannot pour from an empty cup. In order to be there for others, we must first take care of our own needs.
This card has a strong sense of nurturing. This nurturing can be for a plant, child, a loved one, a new idea or project, or simply just be ones way of life. Whatever it is you choose to nurture, know that the Empress is here to tell you that it will end in success.
The Empress card also encourages us to spend time in nature. Go forest bathing. Breathe in fresh air. Take a long walk and touch every tree you pass.
Reverse:
Upright:
Lack of growth, Feeling stuck, Insecurity, Negligence, Smothering
Card in Reverse:
While the Empress card does represent care and nurturing, it is possible to overdo it. In reverse, this card can suggest that you may be placing yourself into other peoples affairs a little too much. You may be neglecting your own needs and putting the needs of others above yours. While it's nice to think of others and be there for them, sometimes our good intentions can do the opposite.
Alternatively, you may be feeling like you lack nurturing. You may be in search for your Empress and are relying a bit too much on the care and decisions of others to get you by. It is important to become our own Empress and take care of ourselves. Think about one small thing you can do for yourself today that will help you build up the confidence you need in order to become more independent.

Upright: The Empress in love can tell us that you are either currently in or will soon be in a very nurturing and caring relationship. There is stability and commitment from your partner. This card brings with it great blessings and assures you that good things are happening right now.
Sometimes the Empress can signify something new arriving in both of your lives, something that you both care for. Be it a baby or perhaps a new animal friend.
Reversed: In reverse, the Empress can sometimes suggest that you or your partner are a bit too smothering. One party may be disregarding their own feelings and focusing too much on the others' needs.
This card can also tell us that maybe you're feeling a bit insecure. You may be looking for outside sources of love to fill a void. You may be feeling unworthy of love and don't understand why relationships are so difficult for you.
If you're feeling this way, instead of searching for love from someone else, take a look at the hobbies and interests you have that give you joy. Not only does exploring what you love in life help build confidence, but it also will lead you to other people who love those things.
Upright: A current idea or project that you've been nurturing is showing great promise! All your care, passion and hard work is paying off.
This card can also suggest that you have a very supportive and nurturing work environment, or that you will soon be hired on to one.
Reversed: Work may be feeling a little stale right now. You may not be feeling very fulfilled when it comes to your career. It's also possible that you feel unappreciated at work, or that your hard work is going unnoticed. What inside you needs nurturing right now? What do you need out of work that you just aren't getting?
